FAQs
1. What Is Just Girls Fitness?
Just Girls Fitness is a mobile personal and group fitness training company designed specifically for women . All our programs and outdoor group training focus on all aspects of women’s fitness. We specialise in weight loss workouts and want you to feel stronger, healthier and happier. We encourage women to take control of their fitness and health and are there to help them every step along the way.
2. Do I need to be fit to come to join Just Girls groups?
You definitely don’t need to be fit before you start but we promise you will leave fitter and healthier. 100% of our Just Girls clients have seen improvements in their fitness and strength since they started. We cater to all ages and fitness levels of women’s fitness. In our group fitness training classes we frequently have a mix of experienced gym goers and complete couch potatoes. Your trainer will tailor the exercises to your individual fitness level and keep you challenged throughout the class.
3. I’m pretty fit already, will I be challenged at Just Girls groups?
That’s a promise. We have a lot of women who have been with us for a long time and their fitness levels continue to improve. All our outdoor group classes are designed to push every individual to the max.
4. What kind of exercises do you do at group training?
Just Girls Fitness group pesonal training classes are all about mixing it up, so we don’t have set exercises for every class. To keep you and your body challenged we make sure no two classes are the same. The kind of exercises you can expect are intervals, sprints, circuits, lunges, squats along with resistance training using your own body weight, dumb bells and medicine balls. Be ready to do push-ups triceps dips, step ups and of course sit-ups. All our classes are perfect if weight loss is your goal.
5. Is there lots of running?
There is some running but the sessions are about variety and fun, and running for one hour is not on. We don’t have a set class plan so your trainer can cater to all the fitness levels in the group, and keep you motivated and working hard. On average running is kept to a minimum. Of course if you enjoy running, we will certainly give you more. The running is done to challenge you but not kill you.
6. How many are in the class?
In most of our group classes there are about 8 – 10 girls. We try not to have more than 12. Limiting the class sizes keeps everyone feeling like a team, promises lots of laughs and ensures everyone gets the individual attention they want and need.
7. I’ve got an old sports injury – is it safe?
If you have any concerns at all you should first check with your doctor or physio before starting a training program. We never push anyone harder than they can go but at the same time classes are designed to be hard work and if you have an injury that has not healed properly it could cause further stress. If you have been given the “go ahead” to train, you are in safe hands. Our trainers are fully qualified and insured and are experienced in dealing with clients who might be carrying small injuries. We will also ask you to fill out a brief health/medical screen before you start. The trainers will read them before they start training you ensuring that they are fully aware of any possible problems. It is a great way to let us know if there is anything we need to be wary of. Our trainers will adapt an exercise to you in order to keep you safe and injury free.
8. What happens if it rains?
For all outdoor sessions, a decision will be made an hour before the class is due to start. If it is too wet (or dangerous) to train, we will call or SMS you.
9. What happens if I can’t make a training session or miss a group class?
If you have to cancel your one on one personal training session we would appreciate it if you could give your trainer 24 hours notice. This means that another client can be accommodated. Unfortunately if you cancel within 4-8 hours, the full session price will be charged.
Don’t panic if you have to miss an outdoor group class. The session card you will receive at the start means there is no need to reschedule missed sessions. Your card will only be stamped when you attend a class.
10. Where do you have classes?
Outdoor group training classes are held at the park at the bottom of Blues Point Road in McMahons Point. There is plenty of places to park. You can’t miss us.
11. What should I bring with me and what should I wear?
We insist you wear proper sports shoes for all training. This will help prevent any injuries and minimise the impact on your feet and legs. Wear a comfy T-shirt and pants and make sure your clothing is not too tight. When you sign up for any Just Girls group, you will receive a complimentary backpack, training t-shirt and towel to use at each session. Water will be provided for you at every group session.
12. Do I need to bring my own gloves and pads to boxing?
No. All your gloves, inners and pads will be provided by your trainer. All the equipment used is of the highest quality.
13. Should I eat before I train?
Simply yes. Make sure you eat about 1/1/2 hours before you train. It gives your body time to digest the food and will ensure your body has enough fuel to make it through your training. Your meal should include some protein and complex carbohydrates and should not be too heavy. Make sure you are hydrated before your start exercising.
